Ever wondered whether you could mix it with the best in the business, or wanted to scratch the entrepreneurial itch that you’ve always had?  Capitalism II brings you more from the cut-throat world of business, where building up business empires and knocking down your competition is all in a day’s work.

Choose from either one of two game modes:  In Entrepreneur, you work through a series of scenarios, each involving a starting business that you have to expand and grow to reach target personal wealth and annual profit levels.  You are introduced to various areas of business, including retail, manufacturing, finance, and others.  This gives players a solid understanding of the mechanics of the game that enables them to master all aspects of this rather complex simulation game.  In Capitalist, once again you have to work through various scenarios, but this time the objective is to dominate a particular industry sector.  Players develop a more in-depth understanding about different industry sectors, and the intricacies of dealing with various relations, competitions, suppliers and customers. 

Once you have completed both campaigns, there is a custom game mode that lets you decide and design the type of game you want to play, and how hostile the business environment you want to put yourself under.  Capitalism II also offers a multi-player mode that lets you pit your business brain against other business-savvy friends.

The emphasis of this game is obviously on the game design and game play, therefore a very complex system of modelling has been developed for controlling the logic and artificial intelligence of the game.  The level of graphics and sound effects are not as flashy as you would expect, but don’t let that fool you about the amount of detail and complexity of game play.  You might also be surprised at the level of detail that the game provides players access to, including ground level detail of the stores that you build and design, with full animation of customers and store layout.

For players new to this business-simulation genre of gaming, the learning curve is slightly steep, but very challenging and rewarding at the same time.  Players who have already played Capitalism will enjoy the richer and more sophisticated environment, and the comprehensive business interaction models and strategies that have been incorporated in this latest offering.  There are also more industry sectors, more products, and includes a much greater list of locations.
