Magus: In Search of Adventure is well-balanced adventure and problem solving puzzle game that provides good wholesome fun for adults and children alike.  In this game, you accompany the main character on a magical journey, travelling through three different worlds in search of excitement, treasure and of course, adventure.

However, this journey is not without its perils and challenges, as you face many obstacles, traps and monsters, each with its characteristics and dynamics.  You will have to outwit the monsters using your special ability and power-ups to collect all the gems on the screen and open the portal to the next level in the journey.  There are 90 testing levels for you to explore, along with 10 unique monsters and 5 types of bonuses to help you get through some tough spots.

The standout of this game is the intricate design of the game, in particular the detailed animation of the monsters, and their individual behaviour patterns.  The real fun of this game starts when you have to evade a combination of these monsters, using a combination of logic and lateral thinking.  A relieve to people who play a lot of casual games in similar genres will be the option to use both the mouse and keyboard for navigation and control of the character, allowing for a greater degree of flexibility with the in-game controls, as well as taking the workload off having to click on the mouse constantly.

Music and sound effects don’t add too much more to the game play (although both are reasonably well composed) but do a good job to bring out the atmosphere and mood of the game, since the main focus has been placed on the graphics and game play.  Overall, this is a solid effort that will give hours of high quality entertainment and keep the players occupied and wanting more.
