You know how we all get sick and tired of parent’s control, and then we can’t wait to reach the 18 years, when we can be free and do whatever we want to do, yeah right! Soon you find yourself begging to stay at home in your warm bad, but welcome to the real world where you got to take care of yourself on your own. My Life Story begins just like that, with you on the street looking for a job with your qualifications and living on your expense not your parents any more. You live(d) in a small town with your mother until she threw you out and how luckily for you the town can get enough of employees. The game then starts and you have a brief tutorial for the basics of the game. You have 5 bars in total, from which 4 matter the most; Fun, Health, Energy and Hunger. The fifth one is Happiness, to be exact the total average of basic four. Every action in the game that happened affects the bars in some way. If you are spending a night at the club or taking a lot of stress on the job, or just relaxing at home, it all counts, just like in the real world, so you must be careful what you do, where you do it, and how much!!! The total activity in the game is measured in hours and there is a white clock at the bottom of the screen that counts those hours. When the work is over at Friday, that’s where you’re bar filling days start. Through the weekend you’ll be resting and accumulating energy for the next weekend, and filling the bars you need. Depending on what you are doing the bars fill up differently. The espresso machine is a must have for the energy bar, but if you don’t have the latest high-tech entertainment system the fun bar won’t charge fast as you’d wanted it to, so buying a Monopoly or the Xbox 360 is another thing of considering to have in your possession. As your character lives his or her life story, they'll be presented with decisions at the various buildings they frequent in town. Marked by a yellow exclamation point, these decisions usually result in boosts and drains to your stats or cash reserves. Just make sure that the decisions you make are mostly positive which results you staying healthy and a reward for that matter, included with a Life Card. Life Card are something you will most definitely need. They contain all kinds of bonuses for you to get, and to fill up your bars. Depending on which bar is the Life Card intended you can take a nice weight of your shoulders. Luckily these awards can be found quite often, it all depends on you and how you play the game. Every card comes as a reward, and to win a reward an achievement must be completed first. There are a quite number of them in the game so you just be on the lookout for them. You have two ranks, Experience and Education, which determine what jobs you're eligible for. While some of your jobs can be paid very well, they can also drain your bars pretty fast which can lead your character collapsing and taken to the hospital. When that happens you spend time in the hospital until the bars recharge and you pay enormous costs for the hospital bill. As the game develops and advances you will come across some very rare and hard to get Life Cards, or in the much later faze of the game you will be able to buy bonuses for certain amount of cash that recovers all of your bars to its max. If you are looking for a Sim game that is based on the real life as far it can go, this one is for you. Controlling your character to the every single detail makes the game so good for playing and enjoying in a time well spent.
